As it turns out those who were "managing" the money either stole it or bet it all and lost and now someone has to pay up. That leaves us in the position to "rescue" the friends of the policy makers (who used to work for those people). We are heading into very challenging times and the government is spending more money than it's advertising it is. Oh, and the government is not telling us where the money is going, or what it is buying. And it's our money.
What I mean by shuffle the deck is this. In old poker games that grandpa used to play they would deal, flop three cards, and then someone who was sure someone was cheating would say "shuffle the deck" in order to ruin someone's cheat. I guess, the next step here is figuring who should pay in the traditional manner, and by traditional I mean "whack em." Not in a "murder" sort of way, but in a "everybody grab a rock and pitch it" sort of way.
Things will have to get much worse before people wake up ... but my fear is that they will be waking up in about Spring 2010.
Just sayin
